Trust & Safety

We can't lose your crypto, because we never touch it

DeWallet is an information and education site for people using digital wallets and cryptocurrency. We publish guides, comparisons, and news. We are not a wallet, an exchange, a broker, or a custodian, and we deliberately keep it that way — the safest system is the one that has no access in the first place.

This page is maintained by the DeWallet team to answer common security and privacy questions. It describes our own practices; it is not an independent audit or certification.

No wallet connections

DeWallet has no connect button, no signature requests, and no transaction flows. Nothing on this site can interact with your wallet.

No keys, ever

We will never ask for a seed phrase, recovery phrase, private key, or keystore file — not on the site, not by email, not through support.

Minimal data

We collect an email address only if you choose to subscribe. We don't ask for wallet addresses, ID documents, or card details.

Independent, labelled

Some wallet links may earn us a commission. That never changes our rankings, and we say so plainly rather than hiding it.

Where responsibility sits

What we handle

  • Keeping the site read-only, with no wallet access of any kind
  • Serving everything over HTTPS on our hosting platform
  • Storing newsletter emails only, with one-click unsubscribe
  • Reviewing and correcting guidance when the landscape changes

What stays with you

  • Your seed phrase and backups — never share them with anyone
  • Choosing and installing wallet software from official sources
  • Verifying every transaction before you approve it
  • Your own research: nothing here is financial advice

Verify you're on the real DeWallet

  1. 1. The address bar must readdewallet.comover HTTPS — check for extra words, hyphens, or unusual endings.
  2. 2. Bookmark the site and use the bookmark. Paid search ads and social posts are the most common way lookalikes get clicked.
  3. 3. If any page here ever asks you to connect a wallet, sign a message, or send funds, it is not us. Leave immediately.

Report a security issue or impersonation

Found a vulnerability, a phishing site using our name, or something that looks wrong? Email security@dewallet.com with the details. Please give us a reasonable window to respond before disclosing publicly, and don't test against live systems in a way that affects other readers.

Frequently asked

Does DeWallet ever ask me to connect a wallet?+
No. There is no wallet-connect button anywhere on DeWallet, and we have no plans to add one. If you ever see a 'Connect wallet' prompt claiming to be DeWallet, it is not us — close the tab and report it to us.
Will DeWallet ask for my seed phrase or private key?+
Never, under any circumstances, through any channel. No legitimate wallet, exchange, or information site ever needs your seed phrase. Anyone who asks — including someone using our name, logo, or a lookalike domain — is trying to steal from you.
Can DeWallet move or freeze my funds?+
No. We hold no keys, take no custody, and are never connected to your wallet. Technically there is nothing on this site capable of touching your balance.
What data does DeWallet collect?+
If you subscribe to the newsletter we store your email address so we can send it, and you can unsubscribe from any email with one click. Questions you ask the AI assistant are processed to generate an answer. We do not ask for wallet addresses, identity documents, or payment details.
How do I know I'm on the real DeWallet?+
Check the address bar reads dewallet.com over HTTPS. Bookmark it and use the bookmark rather than search results or links from social media, since scammers buy ads on brand names and register lookalike domains.
